The Importance of Play

Do Early Childhood teachers feel that play is important for preschool aged children?

How can Early Childhood teachers be an advocate for children about them playing to learn?

  1. When I give tour my parents ask me about children play. I tells them it is very important for a child to have play. If you think about it they are really working. They are learning how to build tall towers with blocks. How to pour water from one cup to another cup during water play.

Through play children are advancing their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. A child develops their concept of the world by their actions with objects and interaction with others. Children experiment and observe the changes actions bring. Experiences through play increases a child's attention span as they continue in activities for periods of time.
